Media in Bonaire
Reinventing and discovering everything. No, I don’t have to reinvent myself as a professional, but many things are a little bit different in Bonaire compared to the Netherlands. For example, here Facebook is leading as a touch-point and LinkedIn is not a thing. So up to me to research and determine which media and tools are available that make a difference. And in which phase of the CDJ – Customer Decision Journey – to utilize them to get the most out of a campaign.
Consulting the media handbook, online or ‘old school’ in print is out of the question, so where do you start? It is in my nature to simply ask around about everything, where people get their information, and what media they consume and use. From there I explore what kind of campaigns are visible on these channels, and which target groups are being reached. It’s nice to know that it helps to think a bit ‘old school’ as a lot goes via the traditional channels here.
It’s also a nice task to make this kind of information available to colleagues via the NIMA Bonaire Community or as online downloads via Caribbean Competence Center.
